Urban and Regional Planning
The college mission is dedicated to excellence in creating and communicating social science and public policy knowledge through leading-edge research, interdisciplinary programs, and teaching. The college is a vibrant place. Their 6 academic and 17 interdisciplinary programs, centers, and institutes address virtually every economic, political, and social issue that society is facing in the 21st century.
Programs offered at the college include Economics, Geography, Political Science, Public Administration and Policy, Sociology, and Urban and Regional Planning. Many of the programs have achieved national acclaim and consistently rank in the top tiers among public universities.
In addition to Ph.D. programs in every department, the college offers applied and professional master’s programs, terminal degrees that train future generations of leaders in both the public and private sectors, as well as providing working professionals with the skills and experience to expand their knowledge and employment prospects. Many of these fast-track, cost-effective programs can be completed in just one year beyond the undergraduate level.
