Tyler Fricker

Tyler Fricker is a doctoral candidate at Florida State University whose research interests are in weather, climate, and society. Much of his work focuses on tornado behavior in a warming world. His current research focuses on 1) how tornado strength and population impact tornado casualties, and 2) the extent different socioeconomic and sociodemographic variables impact tornado casualties. His previous research includes creating methods to quantify tornado kinetic energy and to map tornado casualties.

Outside of his studies, Tyler enjoys playing basketball, golf, and soccer. Moving forward, he hopes to become a college professor and continue to teach and inspire the scientists of tomorrow. Tyler holds a Master of Science in Geography from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Science in Environment and Natural Resources from The Ohio State University.
