Emmanuel Hartman
Emmanuel Hartman was born and raised in Danbury, North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville for his undergraduate degree. Though he originally applied as a Physics major, his first exposure to collegiate level math led him to quickly switch to a Mathematics major during his first semester. By the end of his second year, he had also added a Computer Science minor. Additionally, Emmanuel was an active member of the UNC Asheville Honors Program and served as the president of the Student Honors Advisory Committee.
Emmanuel was passionate about teaching others about the things that interested him. He worked as a Math Lab Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and taught Computer Science after school at a local middle school. These experiences along with his passion for Mathematics research-led Emmanuel to apply to Mathematics graduate programs. After graduating from UNCA, he moved to Tallahassee to start the Mathematics Ph.D. program at Florida State University. He currently lives near FSU’s campus and spends his free time programming and spending time with his pet lizard Titan.
