Elaina Gonsoroski
Elaina is a first-year PhD student in the Department of Geography at Florida State University. She is originally from the Dayton, Ohio area. Her research intersects broadly with Geography and Public Health. She enjoys the interdisciplinary nature of her work. Generally she is interested in climate change and how it relates to human health. Elaina also completed her M.S. at Florida State in Geography. For her thesis project she investigated the relationship between indoor temperature and humidity and heat-related illnesses. She conducted a case-control study to investigate this association. In her PhD career, she is interested in looking at the relationship between climate change and mental health. She is excited about continuing to work at Florida State and to break into this growing research area. Elaina is a recipient of the Legacy Fellowship from Florida State University.
