Ilana Shanks
Ilana is a Florida State University doctoral candidate in the Department of Marketing. Ilana’s research has been presented at the Association for Consumer Research Conference, the AMA Winter Academic Conference, and the Marketing and Public Policy Conference. In addition, Ilana has an MSI Working Paper published. Ilana’s research interest include aesthetics, over-consumption behavior, advanced technology, and transformative consumer research.
Ilana earned her B.S. in Finance from St. John’s University and her M.A. in Psychology from New York University. Prior to attending Florida State University, she worked in private wealth management in New York City for twelve years. Ilana is a member of the American Marketing Association, the Association for Consumer Research, the Society for Consumer Psychology, and The Ph.D. Project Marketing Doctoral Students Association. Ilana is a 2018 Baruch-PhD Project Research Symposium Fellow. Additionally, Ilana is a 2015 recipient of the Melvin and Patricia Stith Transition Grant, 2016-2017 recipient of the American Marketing Association Foundation Valuing Diversity Ph.D. Scholarship, a 2017 recipient of the Harold and Muriel Berkman Charitable Foundation Scholarship, and 2018-2019 recipient of the Stith Graduate Fellowship.
