Anwer Al-Kaimakchi
Anwer Al-kaimakchi was born in Baghdad, Iraq. In 2013, Anwer graduated with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Al-Nahrain University in Baghdad, Iraq. After graduation, Anwer was awarded a fully funded scholarship from the Higher Committee for Education Development in Iraq. This scholarship allowed Anwer to study in the United States to pursue his master’s degree. Anwer received a Master of Science in civil engineering from the Florida State University in Fall 2017. While Anwer was pursuing his master’s degree, he was awarded two awards from the Florida State University in 2017 for his social activities on campus. The first award was Global Citizen Award and the other award was Dean’s Cup award. Currently, Anwer is a PhD candidate in the civil and environmental engineering department at the FAMU-FSU college of engineering. His PhD work is focusing on studying the flexural behavior of stainless steel precast prestressed concrete beams. Anwer won People’s choice award at the annual Three Minute Thesis competition at the Florida State University in 2018.
