Britt Boler Hunter is a doctoral student in the Department of Art History in the College of Fine Arts at FSU who specializes in late medieval book cultures, epistemology, and apocalypticism. She primarily studies English, German, and Netherlandish manuscripts and block-books, researching concepts regarding the organization of visual information, function, and production and reception.
Britt graduated with her MA in Library and Information Studies from Florida State University in 2016 with a certificate in Museum Theory and Practice. She has served on university and professional organization executive boards, committees, and councils, including her a term as President of FSU’s Art History Association (2017-2018) and secretary of the American Library Association student chapter (2015-2016).
In 2017 Britt presented research on fourteenth-century English Apocalypse traditions at the Southeastern Medieval Association Conference. She is the recipient of a Helen J. Beard Conference Travel Grant to present on the Bamberg Heiltumbuch at the Rutgers Graduate Art History Symposium and the 2017 recipient of the Professional Development ARLIS/SE Conference Travel Award to present on haptic accessibility and methods of manuscript research at the Art Libraries Society of North America Conference. Her 2018 article, “The Cambridge, Trinity College MS B.10.2 Apocalypse: Production and Reception at Westminster Abbey,” is published in the 33rd volume of Medieval Perspectives, and she is a contributing author of a forthcoming commentary on the British Library MS Add. 38121 Apocalypse facsimile.
