Erin Heidrick is an innovative violinist and enthusiastic teacher currently based in Tallahassee, FL. She is a graduate teaching assistant and doctoral candidate at Florida State University, where she studies violin performance in the Music Performance program with Dr. Shannon Thomas. As a lover of all things “indie-classical,” Erin enjoys participating in unique new music projects. Her doctoral treatise focuses on the “bandsemble”- the classical chamber ensemble-meets-rock band, led by its own composer. She loves performing with her “cover bandsembles,” Construct and TRIOmphe, as well as with her own bandsemble Haven, which is led by FSU composer and electric guitarist, Matthew Briggs. Most recently, Erin performed with her bandsembles and further explained her treatise topic to a diverse audience in a lecture recital at the College of Music.

Erin received a Master’s in Music from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance and Instrumental Music Education and the Honors College Degree from Oklahoma State University. She has a genuine passion for teaching-you can find her coaching chamber music and teaching secondary lessons at FSU. She also regularly leads Suzuki violin group classes and teaches 4-12 year olds violin at the Tallahassee music studio, Music Lessons Express.

In her free time, Erin enjoys creating vlogs that document her musical projects – she regularly posts them to her YouTube channel @bandsembling!
