Natalie Geyer
Natalie Geyer graduated with a doctoral degree from the FSU Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Science. Her graduate studies focused on phytoplankton ecology in Apalachicola Bay, Florida, for which she received a Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. She has presented at national and international scientific meetings including the Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation and the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography, and she is currently publishing her doctoral research. While at FSU, Natalie participated in the Saturday-at-the-Sea program as a marine science instructor for youth and public outreach events. She received her certification as a Scientific Diver through the FSU Academic Diving Program and participated in several underwater research projects, including studies in the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Keys.
Natalie holds a B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Evansville and a Ph.D. in Oceanography from FSU. She graduated from FSU in August 2017 and currently works at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in the Beach Management Funding Assistance Program.
