Why FSU?

After researching different degree plans at various schools, the Social Work program at FSU was the best option for me. I also knew that I needed to pursue a graduate degree to be competitive in my field.

Importance of research and work

Social work is an intricate part of today’s society. The need for well-trained social workers is at an all-time high. My goal is to help communities achieve their absolute best while assisting in all facets of life.

Describe an aspect of your military service that is especially memorable or exceptional

I served seven years in the United States Marine Corps. There are so many moments that helped shape me into the person I am today.

Tell us how your military service provided skills and experiences that you were able to apply to your graduate studies

Being in the Marine Corps taught me various skills, the top being leadership, communications, and time management.

Advice for anyone considering graduate school

Just go for it. Graduate school will only make you more proficient in your abilities.

Accomplishments during graduate career

During my graduate career, I became a single mom, and throughout this journey I have maintained a 3.56 GPA.

Career aspirations

After graduation, I want to work with children in schools. I want to provide a safe place for children to come to when they need it the most.
